If you have been following this you would have noticed I jumped from day 36 today 41. I got really busy the day before our trip and during out trip, so I had not time to blog, and only read a few of those days. I THINK I caught up this morning to where I should be. I want to keep track of my days so on day 365 of Bible in 365 it will be the end! Hopefully!
So, lets see. I finally enjoyed the reading this morning, not that I haven't before, but I was getting so stuck in the do's and the don't of Leviticus it was frustrating me. One thing that seemed very important in my read this morning was the Sabbath. In today's society I think that the Sabbath is a foreign concept. I know for me, taking a day of rest is extremely hard. Somehow I have wrapped up being busy with accomplishments and success. But we are supposed to rest one day of the week. No work. I think God new we get burned out easily and if we do not rest then... well... we are not very good people. I am going to try to make the a concept in my life, a day of rest. What is going to be hard is to not think of myself as Lazy during that day of rest. But I will do my best!
Also Chapter 26 was the reward for obedience... and that was something interesting to me. I think that "We" think that when we are good when should be happy... when we are doing the RIGHT things, we should be happy. But in this chapter it never ever said that. There were no words saying "do what the Lord commands and He will insure your happiness". Nope... What He did say was "He will make sure you are fed, your land will produce good crops, you will have shelter, your enemy will NOT defeat you".
If you Disobeyed the Lord you would have the exact opposite. Happiness is entirely up to us. We have the freedom to choose whether we are happy or not. Obviously when we obey the Lord our circumstances are more conducive to happiness.
So for today - Let's try to rest one day a week and listen to God... Let us Choose happiness, obey the Lord... and shine bright!!!
