Frugal Family Activities!

I told you last week I was working on a list of suggestions for Frugal Family Activities.  Sometimes a family can go stir crazy in their home avoiding "spending money" on fun stuff.

Here are a few suggestions to help build your family's fun time, enjoy yourself, and spend .. NOTHING!  (maybe gas and food you would already have in your pantry)

1.  Go to a park and enjoy nature, if you have little ones they could care less about the weather as long as they are dress appropriate and have you as company!  Have you gone to all the parks in your city?  Make a list and start checking them off as you visit them, you'll be amazed at the fun you'll have!
2.  Go on a walk, hike, bike ride, etc!  This is my favorite with my family.  We get to see the country enjoy quiet time with no distractions!
3.  Learn the history of where you live.  I know this sounds silly, but do the tourist thing in your own city.  Visit city hall, the library, or the parks and recreation centers.  Find out where you live!!
4.  Exercise together - make it a fun competition... once a week have a set goal and see who wins!
5.  Pick a cook book you have in your house and go through it, trying something new every week, cooking can be a great way to build your family!
6.  Go to free workshops at Home Depot, Lowe's, Michael's!
7.  Volunteer at a soup kitchen - nothing better than this!

That is it for now - any other suggestions??????
