Day 28 of Bible in 365

Maybe this story is different now that I am an adult and can actually understand what I am reading.  So Moses is up at the Mountain... having casual conversation with God.  Meanwhile, the people that the Lord rescued from Egypt are down below getting restless (I never get restless waiting on God... ya right!!)  So they talk Aaron (Moses' Brother) into building an Altar to a God.  So they did.  Even after God had just told them not to worship other Gods. 
So God interrupts His conversation with Moses and tells him that his people down there are worshiping other Gods ... and goes on saying that God is angry and is going to kill them all.  Moses talks God out of it.  But Moses now has to come down from the mountain and deal with them.  So he gets down there and stops all of this stuff... he gives them all the opportunity to serve the real God and it says only the Levites come to serve God.  So that day, over 3,000 of the Israelites that were rescued out of Egypt were killed by their own people.... because they choose to worship other Gods.  So sad...  But again, it never says God is nice... God is Just.
Moses then goes up to Mount Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights and talks to God...he sees God (but not his face).  When he comes down with the tablets his face is glowing.... so he has to wear a vial. 
What a time... I mean seriously, Moses gets to sit in front of God and have conversations with Him...

So my question for me today is am I building altars to other gods while waiting for God?  I don't know... I am going to have to get back to you on that one, I need to pray about it.
