Day 36 of Bible in 365

We have such a gracious God.  As I am reading through Leviticus, reading about everything the Israelites had to remember and obey... all the requirements for them to insure they stay clean... I think about the current religions that still require the believers to obey such rules...  and how Our God is so gracious and asks so little of us... all He wants is our love, He wants us to CHOOSE Him...  I am so humbled as I think of how God pursues us... and how HE desires US... who are we to deserve that?  We are His children whom He loves!

Today it talked about certain things the Israelites had to do in order to stay clean, then what the Priest had to do in order to stay clean.  It is quite a difference.  I feel that is the same today, our leaders, the Pastors, Missionaries, any one in leadership is held to such a greater lifestyle than the body.  They are under a microscope and held accountable in a higher capacity.  I have seen this in my life, whether or not it was when I was in leadership, or just leaders that I have observed... the higher level of accountability is very important and not to be taken lightly.  I feel when I leader does take this lightly they not only hurt themselves and their relationship with the Lord, but they damage the ones following them.  I have witnessed this too much in my lifetime, and all though I have prayed for the leaders, the ones that my heart goes out to are the ones that have fallen because of the leaders who didn't take that accountability to heart.  So when I read the standards that the Priest had to follow, I feel a great respect for it... leadership is NOT to be taken lightly!
