Day 12 & 13 of Bible in 365

Yesterday ended up being a relatively relaxing day where I just had the opportunity to hang out with my family and I loved every second of it - so I didn't get a chance to post about my reading yesterday.  So you get a 2 for 1 today!

There was a lot of little stuff that happened, then several BIG things.
One of Jacob's daughters were deviled by a boy... a boy who wanted to marry her... but AFTER he slept with her!  So, Jacob was asked for his daughter in trade for all their daughters - Jacobs family agreed, but after the whole tribe was circumcised - they agreed.  Then... this stuff happens all the time, it just proves that man kind in man kind ... thousands of years ago they still battled with loss, and fear, and revenge.  So Jacobs sons hated that their sister was deviled... in the middle of the night why those who were circumcised were still recovering Jacobs sons KILLED THEM...  Stole their stuff... all their women and children and left.  Cowards!  This shows me how important Jacob was to mankind... God was fulfilling his promise to Abraham through Jacob and still... after his sons did all of this, God still protected him.  Pretty amazing - God stands true to a promise, because we have already seen men killed by God for less than this.
Then we were introduced to Joseph.  I am sure we have all heard a version of Josephs story - right now we are just in the beginning, and I can get very passionate about Josephs story.  Joseph had not one ... but TWO dreams - and as a zealous boy he told his brothers about them... his brothers that he thought was on his side.  But, his brothers despised the fact that in his dreams they were serving Joseph.  It wasn't like Joseph made this up... or choose this... he was just telling a dream - when I read that I think of how soft Josephs heart really was, how innocent... I love it.  But this is all part of God's plan... His plan that We DON'T understand.  Joseph HAD to tell his brothers about his dreams in order to fulfill his destiny!  He is about to walk through some tough times because of telling his dream, but if he didn't tell his dream, would he have had the same outcome???
Were we leave off is, Joseph was sold eventually to the Egyptians from his brothers... Tomorrow we get to hear more - But I love love love how God works through this- sometimes I feel like its the story of my life (not that I was ever sold by any of my siblings!).

Can't wait to read tomorrow and see the outcome!

Toddle do!
